Children’s Camp Cabin Leader Staff Application

Thank you for your commitment to Veteran Camp. Our success is dependent on people just like you who are so willing to serve the Lord and your fellow campers. We appreciate your help!

Our 2024 camp dates are July 1-7 (Monday to Sunday). Staff are welcome to arrive June 30th. Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years of age.  Once accepted, staff are required to attend staff training on Monday, July 1st at 10:00 am.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To live with and be responsible for the health, safety and spiritual welfare and happiness of a cabin group.

  2. To provide each camper the opportunity to receive Christ as Savior and/or grow in their Christian life.

  3. To live out a Christ like spirit in social relationships, attitudes and all manner of life including language, conduct and activities involved in.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To lead the cabin/team group in activities as a part of the bigger group setting.

  2. To take the leadership, when assigned by the director(s), of other camper groups for activities like sports or stationed games.

  3. To be responsible for the discipline of the group, in a just manner. In cases of serious problems, contact the director immediately and discuss with him/her what course of action to take. Report missing campers immediately.

  4. To supervise the group and assist in cabin housekeeping duties.

  5. To lead your cabin in a daily Bible Study (director(s) will inform of topics/themes).

  6. To supervise and assist the group in gratis duties (if applicable).

  7. To eat meals together with your campers when possible.

  8. To attend all staff meetings and to contribute in any way possible.

  9. Try to keep in contact with your campers after camp.



QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Christian maturity, potential leadership ability. Love for children/teens and the outdoors, and a sense of God's call to camp leadership.

  2. Must be 16 years or older.

  3. Attend pre-camp training/orientation session(s) and return any correspondence requested.

  4. Criminal record check if over the age of 18.

  5. Completed registration form.
